God the Father
We believe that there is one God and Father of all. He is the eternal and sovereign Creator, Ruler, and Preserver of all things.
Jesus Christ
We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ as the only begotten Son of God. We believe in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His atoning death on a cross, in His bodily resurrection from the dead, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.
The Holy Spirit
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit as Comforter and Guide and by whose indwelling, the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.
The Scriptures
We believe the Bible to be the inspired and infallible Word of God. It is the final and sufficient authority for life and doctrine. We believe that the Word of God is living and active and is given by inspiration of God. It is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man and woman of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
The Plan of Salvation
We believe that salvation is found in no other name than that of Jesus Christ. Through His atoning sacrifice on the cross, God has reconciled Himself to us, a sinful people. A study of New Testament conversions reveals common elements that were (and are) essential for true conversion:
Be Called of God
“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” (Romans 8:28)
Hear the Message
“So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” (Romans 10:17)
Belief in Jesus Christ
“I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die.” (John 11:25-26)
Repentance
“For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation …” (2 Corinthians 7:10)
Confession
“that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” (Romans 10:9-10)
Baptism by immersion
“Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.” (Mark 16:16)
Many modern day churches teach that simply reciting a certain prayer is the point at which one enters into a right standing with God. There are no examples of this found in scripture; therefore, we submit to the terms and methods set forth by God in the New Testament. We believe that it is entirely by God’s infinite grace that we can be saved, not by any power, effort, or will of our own.
The Church
We believe that Jesus Christ is the Head of the church and that through Him, there is spiritual unity among His disciples. The purpose of the church is to glorify God through worship, edification and instruction of believers, and the sharing of the Gospel with the world. The church should also serve the needs of others both within and outside of the body of believers.
Ordinances
We believe Christ instituted two ordinances for His church. The first is baptism where, in obedience to Christ’s command, believers must be baptized by immersion in water for the forgiveness of sins. Spiritually, baptism is a participation in the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ. The second ordinance is the Lord’s Supper, to be observed only by those who are disciples of Christ. This ordinance symbolizes the giving of Christ’s body and the shedding of His blood, as a new covenant for His people, and is to be observed repeatedly by the church until He returns.
